There are now a huge number of young South Koreans who have joined a club membership to rent luxury items. This case exemplifies a growing movement among shoppers in the fourth largest economy in Asia.

According to Korea Herald, rental services allow paying members to choose a luxury item out of 500 different bags from 37 luxury brands. The most famous are Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Bottega Veneta and Chanel. They can also choose to rent expensive watches from brands like Hermes, Omega and Cartier.

In South Korea this service is steadily gaining a mainstream following especially for women who want to carry brand name bags but cannot afford the price tag. Koreans view luxury items as a strong symbol of social status and many citizens are always conscious of the luxury items that they have.
