Southern Taiwan Launches Colorful Pineapple Festival

TAIPEI – The Maolin National Scenic Area Administration has started the very first pineapple festival in the country with the use of different colorful fabrics that transformed a pineapple farm into different images.
The farm has attracted many tourists in the past few days and more visitors are expected on the upcoming Tomb Sweeping Day Festival as cited in Taiwan News.
The weather for the pineapple fruiting season from March to May is usually dry with plenty of sunshine available. To protect the fruits from being sun-burned, the farmers will use sun-proof fabrics for protection.
This year the Maolin Administration came up with the idea to make a colorful carpet on the pineapple farms using various fabrics. An observatory has also been setup for visitors to get a better glimpse of the pineapple farm.
