TAIPEI – Power experts suggest that the government has to revise the nation’s power system in order to avoid another enormous nationwide power blackout.
The revision will also provide key answers to the problem of electricity deficiency during Taiwan’s boiling summer months.
The power outage yesterday has been blamed on human error which occurred at the Tatan Power Station in Taoyuan City.
Experts agree that Taiwan is also facing a two-fold power problem which is shortage and disruption as reported in Taiwan News.
Hung Shen-Han from the Green Citizens' Action Alliance said that the unexpected blackout has shown the country’s fragile power system and future errors could eventually destroy the entire power grid.
It is now a necessity for the CPC Corporation and the Taiwan Power Corporation to start immediate reforms of their power supply network.
Huang Shih-Hsiu, the founder of the energy organization Nuclear MythBusters said that the widespread blackout was also the result of insufficient electricity reserves.
