MIYAGI – Precision flying aerobatics was performed once again by the Blue Impulse of the Air Self-Defense Force in Higashimatsushima.
It was the first air show to be held after 7 years due to the suspension of the event after the 2011 tsunami damaged the base.
Around 43,000 visitors attended the show on Sunday and the crowd went wild when the planes created a giant heart in the sky as stated in Japan Today.
The Blue Impulse was founded in 1960 as a team of F-86 Sabres. The team changed in 1980 to Mitsubishi T-2 and then switched to Kawasaki T-4 in 1995.
